The ancient realm of Gandhara was the spiritual crossroads of Asia where Buddhist art, philosophy, and Hellenistic sculpture converged. This 5-day journey explores the ancient university city of Taxila, the alpine stupas of Swat Valley, and the masterworks of the Peshawar Museum, retracing the path of Faxian and Xuanzang through Pakistan's sacred Buddhist valleys.

Drive 35 km to Taxila. Tour Taxila Museum, the great Dharmarajika Stupa, and the prehistoric mounds of Bhir. Overnight in Islamabad or Taxila.
Walk the grid city of Sirkap and the Double-Headed Eagle stupa. Hike to Jaulian's cliff monastery to view preserved Buddha niches and student quarters.
Cross Malakand Pass into the lush Swat Valley. Visit the sacred Butkara Stupa founded by Emperor Ashoka and the Swat Archaeological Museum.
Visit the massive 7-meter Jahanabad seated Buddha carved into a high cliff face. Proceed to the ancient stone dome of Amluk Dara Stupa.
Drive to Peshawar for an exclusive tour of the Peshawar Museum Gandhara collection. Afternoon return to Islamabad.
