Day 01: Arrival at Gandhara International Airport, Islamabad

Upon your arrival in Islamabad, typically in the afternoon, our experienced guides will warmly welcome you at Gandhara International Airport. Subsequently, you will be smoothly transferred to your designated standard hotel. This day provides an opportunity for participants to unwind and rejuvenate after their journey. An informative briefing will be conducted once the entire group is assembled, and there may also be a visit to the Ministry of Tourism for an official orientation.

Day 02: Fly to Skardu, Karakoram

Day 02 commences with a captivating flight from Islamabad airport to Skardu airport. Weather permitting, you’ll be treated to a panoramic view of Nanga Parbat, a majestic Himalayan peak. Upon your arrival in Skardu, take the day to acclimatize and immerse yourself in the surroundings.

In the unlikely event of a flight cancellation, overnight lodging will be arranged in Chilas. Welcome to the gateway of the Karakoram, where your adventure amidst pristine landscapes begins

Day 03: Spend free day at Skardu

After breakfast, participants will ascend to the Kharpocho Fort, perched high on a mountain, offering mesmerizing vistas of the Indus River and Skardu town. Optional visits to the serene Sadpara Lake and leisurely shopping in Skardu Bazaar are available.

While you explore, our team will handle essential government documentation in Skardu, which can take up to two days. Contingency days are built into the itinerary to accommodate any potential delays.

This day combines exploration, cultural immersion, and vital preparations, ensuring a seamless and captivating journey into the heart of the Karakoram.

Day 04: Journey to Askole Village

Today, we embark on an exciting adventure as participants commence a thrilling jeep safari towards Daso. This exhilarating journey takes us through the picturesque Shigar Valley, tracing the path alongside the Braldu River, which stretches all the way to Askole.

Askole marks the culmination of our road journey, where we bid adieu to our jeeps and step into the realm of trekking. Depending on road conditions, our trek may commence even before we reach Askole. In total, this leg of the journey spans between six to eight hours, promising a captivating start to our trekking expedition.

Day 05: Trek from Askole to Jhola via Biafo Glacier Snout

Day 5 we embark on our trek from Askole to Jhola, our team will ensure all necessary supplies and equipment are in order before setting off. The journey takes us into the gateway of the magnificent Biafo Glacier, a colossal ice river stretching over fifty kilometers from Hispar La to Braldu.

As we advance, expect to traverse the undulating terrain of moraines while crossing the snout of the glacier. We’ll descend to a picturesque lunch spot beside the Korofon River, where you can relish a meal amid stunning natural surroundings.

Our path will lead us to the confluence of the Braldu and Domordo rivers, where we opt for a newer trail that takes us upstream. Here, a bridge facilitates our river crossing. On the opposite bank, we’ll descend to the Braldu riverbank, following its course to reach our camp at Jhola. This day promises an exhilarating blend of challenging terrain and breathtaking scenery.

Day 06: Trek from Jhola to Paiju Along the Braldu River

On this remarkable day of our K2 base camp trek, we trace the captivating Braldu Gorge, journeying alongside the meandering Braldu River. The scenery is nothing short of awe-inspiring, with the striking rock formations of Trango Tower and Cathedral Peak adorning the landscape. It’s advisable to take

precautions against potential sunburn, as the trekking conditions can be dry and hot.

Throughout the day, we’ll encounter several streams fed by glacier meltwater, potentially requiring river-crossing shoes depending on water levels. If weather permits, you’ll also catch sight of the impressive snout of the Baltoro Glacier.

As the day draws to a close, we’ll ascend from the riverbank to reach our camp at Paiju. Notably, this is the last campsite where you’ll encounter trees for a while, marking a transition in the landscape as we journey deeper into the heart of the wilderness.

Day 07: Acclimatization and Rest in Paiju

Day 7 is dedicated to acclimatization and well-deserved rest at Paiju Camp. While participants take this time to adapt to the altitude and recharge, our diligent porters will be busy baking fresh bread to sustain us for the upcoming week on the glacier.

For those who feel up to it, an acclimatization walk towards the base camp of Paiju Peak is also an option. This day offers a perfect balance of rejuvenation and preparation for the adventures that lie ahead, ensuring you’re ready for the challenges of the K2 base camp trek.

Day 08: Trek from Paiju to Khoburtse

Prepare for a day of challenging yet immensely rewarding trekking. As we continue our journey, the scenery unfolds into a breathtaking spectacle with each step onto the vast expanse of the Baltoro Glacier. The trail ahead presents continuous ups and downs along the glacial moraine. While the path is generally safe, it is crucial to exercise caution throughout.

With every stride, you’ll be treated to astonishing vistas, including the imposing Trango Tower and Uli Biaho. The adventure takes an exhilarating turn as we cross the glacier to reach Liligo. From this point, a rocky trail guides us along the edge of the Baltoro Glacier, leading us to Khoburtse, where we’ll set up camp. This day promises not only a physical challenge but also the privilege of witnessing some of the

most iconic natural wonders in the region.

Day 09: Traverse Small Glaciers and Trek to Urdukus

Day 9 journey brings us closer to the awe-inspiring Trango Towers, a sight to behold. After navigating across two small glaciers, these iconic rock formations will grace our horizon.
Our destination for the night is Urdukus, situated near an army camp. Perched 100 meters above the glacier, this camp offers a unique vantage point to soak in the surrounding beauty. As we trek through this remarkable landscape, the day unfolds with a sense of anticipation and wonder.

Day 10: Trek to Goro II – Where Baltoro and Young Husband Glaciers Converge

This day marks a remarkable leg of our K2 base camp trek as we find ourselves venturing right into the heart of the glacier. Our path follows the prominent medial moraine, offering breathtaking views of Masherbrum (7,821 meters) to the south. This terrain presents a series of ascents and descents over rocky moraines, with colossal ice seracs dotting the landscape.
Our camp for the night is Goro II, a significant juncture where the Baltoro Glacier meets the Young Husband Glacier. As the day transitions into night, be prepared for a significant drop in temperature. The magnificent Masherbrum and Muztagh Tower will grace us with their imposing presence, creating a truly memorable experience.

Day 11: Trek to Concordia – The Grand Peak Encounter

Today, as we journey through the rocky moraine on our K2 base camp trek, prepare for an exhilarating experience. With each step, the landscape unfolds, revealing a mesmerizing panorama of towering snow-capped peaks. This day marks the pinnacle of our expedition, as we set our sights on the majestic K2.

As we continue, an array of high-altitude wonders comes into view, including Broad Peak, Mitre Peak, Gasherbrum, Sia Kangri, and many more. The trek to Concordia is a thrilling ascent through nature’s grandeur, where the mountains stand as giants, welcoming us to their extraordinary domain.

Day 12: Trek to Broad Peak Base Camp, Gilkey Memorial, and K2 Base Camp (Optional)

Today, you have a unique opportunity to embark on an adventurous journey. We can trek up the Godwin-Austen glacier to visit the Art Gilkey Memorial, a tribute to an American geologist and mountaineer, located just before reaching the famous K2 Base Camp.

Our day starts early as we navigate across glaciers, following a rocky trail towards the awe-inspiring K2. As we proceed, K2 becomes larger and more prominent, while Broad Peak rises to our right. After about three hours, we’ll reach the base camp of Broad Peak, where some may choose to conclude their trek.

We’ll take a break here for lunch, enjoying the stunning scenery. For those continuing, K2 will loom ever closer as we approach. Just before we reach K2 Base Camp, we’ll encounter the Art Gilkey Memorial amid the rugged terrain, where we pay our respects to those who lost their lives on K2. Plaques and engraved tin plates mark this memorial on a small rocky outcrop at the base of the mountain. From here, we’ll have fantastic views of K2 and might even spot climbing expeditions.

Day 13: Trek to Goro I/Biango

Day 13 leg of the K2 Base Camp trek leads us back to Goro I/Biango. This day’s journey is relatively straightforward as we descend from our current campsite. While the terrain may be easier, the landscape remains captivating, offering a different perspective of the surrounding natural beauty. It’s a day to soak in the scenery and appreciate the unique environment of this region.

Day 14: Trek to Khoburtse with Views of Trango Towers

Today’s trek takes us to the campsite at Khoburtse. We’ll retrace our steps along the glacier from Goro I to reach this picturesque location. Along the way, we’ll be treated to magnificent vistas of the iconic Trango Towers. Despite retracing our route, the journey back offers a fresh perspective, allowing us to appreciate the ever-changing beauty of this landscape.

Day 15: Trek Back to Camp Paiju

we descend along the side of the glacier via Liligo, transitioning from the moraine to more stable ground. As we continue, we’ll gradually re-enter forested terrain and eventually arrive at the Paiju campsite, where we can rest and appreciate the lush surroundings.

Day 16: Trek to Jhola Campsite

On this day, we’ll follow a familiar trail along the Braldu gorge, making the trek relatively easier. However, be prepared for some river crossings. By the end of the day, we’ll arrive at our campsite in

Jhola, where you can relax and appreciate the stunning surroundings.

Day 17: Trek to Askole and Drive to Skardu Town

Accommodation: Standard Hotel

Altitude: 2,498 m


On day 17, we’ll trace our steps back to Askole village, following the riverside trail to the bridge. After lunch, we’ll take a jeep ride to Skardu, allowing our weary feet some well-deserved rest. Enjoy the scenic journey to Skardu town.

Day 18: Return to Islamabad

Day 18, we bid farewell to the mountains and take a flight from Skardu Airport back to Islamabad. Once in Islamabad, you can check in to your standard hotel and take some time to relax and recuperate after your trekking expedition.

Days 19-20: Contingency and Sightseeing

on days 19-20, We’ve set aside two additional days to account for any unexpected delays that might occur during your journey. Our priority is to ensure that you don’t miss your international flights due to unforeseen circumstances such as flight cancellations, roadblocks, or necessary government paperwork etc.

In case everything proceeds according to plan and you arrive in Islamabad as scheduled, these extra days can be a fantastic opportunity to explore and enjoy the sights of Islamabad, making the most of your time in Pakistan’s capital city.

Day 21: Departure to Home Country
