The Darkot Pass, nestled in Pakistan’s Hindukush Range, served as a historic route used by Korean General Ko Chen-Chi and the Chinese Army. It’s a remote and stunning trekking path, forming part of the Darkot and Broghil Pass Trek, which begins in Islamabad, takes you through Gilgit via the Karakoram Highway, and leads to Darkot Pass and the Wakhan corridor along the Afghan border. The journey continues through Chitral, offering a glimpse of Kalash Valley and Swat Valley before circling back to Islamabad. This trek provides a rare opportunity to explore a recently accessible region, featuring picturesque mountain villages, lush meadows, and abundant wildlife. It eventually concludes in Gupis via Shandur Pass, with the chance to visit Hunza and Gilgit.
